Marilyn Stroble

Job:  Director of Christian Education, Children & Youth Ministries

Marilyn works with the pastor in carrying out the mission of Christian Education in the church.  In her role, Marilyn serves as advisor and resource person to the Christian Education committee and provides curriculum resource for all Christian Education programs.

Education: 

Marilyn graduated high school in Coraopolis Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Mansfield State University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics Education.

Marilyn obtained her Masters Degree in Christian Education at the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond Virginia, and is the only certified Christian Educator in the Presbytery.  Marilyn’s 30 years of devotion to Christian Education has taken her to diverse church settings in Pennsylvania, Texas, Illinois, Arkansas and Ohio.

Marilyn’s passion for doing ministry brought her to UPC 8 ½ years ago and continue to the present. 

In carrying out the mission of Christian Education in the church, Marilyn’s role is integral to the UPC mission of Helping All People Become All They Can Be In Jesus Christ.  Marilyn created and developed the Amazement Park program and is a champion of the all church retreat and Pentecost party.

Marilyn’s other interest and hobbies are reading, scrapbooking, crafting, and travel.  Marilyn and Bob, her husband of 23 years live in Stow.  They have two children, Kristin & Kevin.

Marilyn, How would you describe UPC to someone who has never attended or who has been away for a while?  “I would describe UPC as a family church.  That meaning that people know and care about one another.  Its a family that likes to worship God, study His word, do His mission, and have fun together.”

What are your favorite programs or activities at UPC?  “UPC has so many activities and programs.  For me personally, I love the card making at Wednesday Night ALIVE.  As a staff, my favorites are the all church retreat, Jr High Youth and Amazement Park.  What is your favorite Bible passage?  Isaiah 6:8 and Micah 6:8.”
