A
word of welcome from our pastor:
I
am excited to be involved with this wonderful church. And, we
know that you will be excited, too, ... and, you will find a
sense of fulfillment that only comes by investing yourself in God and
in His community - the Christian Community. The United
Presbyterian Church may very well be the church God is calling you to
be involved in.
You will discover in
this place other people just like you ... people from all
walks of life, from every occupation and every generation who have
come together on a common spiritual journey. We direct our
attention and prayers to God as we celebrate what He has done and
promises to do with us (Worship). We take the time
to find out what God has to say about the one life He has given us (Scripture).
And, because this community is important to us, we take the needs
of our neighbors seriously (Service).
We promise you a warm
welcome when you come to worship or to one of our many groups and
activities. We want to know who you are. Everyone who has
come to our church is important to us and our fellowship is enriched
by the many God has called here.
The Church is the one
place where you can find what you really can't find
anywhere else ... a true connection with God and with others that is
solid and enduring through the many seasons of our lives ... And
so, we offer our church to you and we reach out to you in the
name of Jesus, the One we joyfully follow as the Lord of our
lives.
Ross Slaughter, Pastor.

What you may like about us...
- We are United.
In our congregation you will find people with a variety of beliefs.
We are conservative and we are liberal. We are evangelical and we
are missional. Yet we realize that any differences are insignificant.
We have a common Lord, Jesus Christ and we can work together,
united, supporting one another toward our common goals. We are
working to help people be all they can be in Jesus Christ.
- We have an exceptional
music program. Our adult choir, under
the direction of Marie Taylor has nearly 30 members, provides
special music at our more traditional 8:30 worship service. Our
praise band, under the direction of Ben Marquette, leads us in
contemporary music during our 11:00 worship.experience. We
also have children's choirs and handbell choirs as well.
- We have a Creative
Arts Team. This newly formed team is building upon the talents that
we have in drama, music, puppets, dance and media. Look for these
specials to augment our worship experiences.
- We have a midweek
program. Its called Wednesday Night ALIVE.(WNA)
ALIVE is an acronym for Abundance Living In Varied Experiences. It
is a program for all ages. For children there are Bible activities
and choir. for youth there is a variety of creative arts, for adults
there are two or three classes and activites in each session to
choose from. For all there is a meal. WNA meets for 10
weeks in the fall and 10 weeks in the winter.
- Our Sunday
school has many adult classes to
choose from. We have a nursery for children under two years and a
class for children and youth from age two through high school. Our
grade school children follow a rotation model that we call The
Amazement Park.
- We have a new
men's group. Also a newly formed group, men gather the third
Saturday of the month at 7:30 am for breakfast, fellowship, study
and planning of outings for men only. Look for announcements of
these events.
- We support mission. In
particular we are supporting a vital ministry in Uzbekistan and have
contacts in other parts of Central Asia. Within our
church we have an effective pantry program and a monthly soup lunch
for the community.
- There is much more. We
encourage you to browse our web site which will acquaint you with
various aspects of our ministry. Welcome!

Our sanctuary
is equipped with a broadcasting system with special hearing needs. All
levels of the building are wheelchair accessible. We have an infant care
nursery and a special children's worship bulletin is available. There is
care for children ages 3 - 5 following the children's message. Additional
information may be found throughout this web site. Our home page has the
latest timely information. There are sections devoted to our various
ministries including Christian education
and mission. We hope you will
find these pages helpful and that you will feel at home with us when you
