We're just
getting started! The Connection was organized in
December 2005 as a ministry with young adults at UPC.
Watch for new development as the group and
opportunities grow.
Who is in
The Connection? We welcome
With The
Connection we will be able to provide a variety of
opportunities. Here is what we have going so far.
Sunday Morning
We have a group that meets
in Sunday Mornings at 9:45.
Sunday Evenings
A fellowship group
is meeting at 6:30 pm in Cafe Connection.
This is group is currently on break.
Cafe Connection
One project is to make our
meeting room into a more suitable space that will
appeal to young adults. The room has received a fresh coat of paint. We're
working on the next step.
Service Projects
We have adopted a small
garden area that is part of the church landscaping.
We are also participating two church service
projects: packing for our pantry and the Saturday soup lunch. |
- Future Plans.
We plan to convert our meeting space into a
cafe-type of atmosphere. This will allow for several
small groups to meet at the same time. Or we could
have workshops or small learning groups led by a
facilitator. The room could be set up to
accommodate multimedia so that videos or a movie
could be shown.
- We plan to
eventually have a lot of small groups that will meet
frequently to meet the varying needs of those in our
group. Here are a few of the types of groups that
have been suggested.
- Single parents group
- Prayer group
- Bible study
fellowship
- Book study
- Service group
- Moms group
- Hiking
- Sports related
- Take turns cooking a
meal
These are only some of
the possibilities. All it takes to get started is
someone who is willing to organize it.

Where to Find Us.
Cafe
Connection is located in room 210. Take the long
hallway going up the stairs from the Sanctuary. Pass
the library and then go left. Down the hall, we're in
the room to the left. |
